This attractive lodge on the Gledfield Estate, near the village of Ardgay, is the perfect base to explore Sutherland and the rest of the Highlands. It is fantastic for walking holidays, with endless hill and river trails in the area, including on the estate itself. The River Carron runs through the estate, offering lovely riverside strolls and fishing. It’s also within easy reach of the coast, with sheltered sandy beaches and a particularly sunny microclimate on the Dornoch Firth. The cottage sleeps four over two bedrooms and has a secure garden, making it an ideal base for dog-owners.
The lodge is cosy and traditional, both inside and out, and has been newly refurbished. All built on the same floor with a spacious living room with an open fire, complete with fireguard, and a choice of sofas and armchairs. It’s a great place to relax with a book for the afternoon or spend a cosy evening with the Smart TV for entertainment. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped, with a family dining table and plenty of food prep space. It is home to an electric double oven and hob, a microwave, kettle and toaster. There are two bedrooms, one a double and one a twin, and a spacious shower room. Wifi is included as standard.
Outside, there is a safe, enclosed walled garden with lawns and mature shrubs. There is ample parking on the private drive. Plus, there is access to the hill behind the house from the drive.
